Freshman :
Ended as Rank #102 (3.30 Weighted GPA)
Became class Treasurer , enjoyed being in football, didn't do too well academically
Didn't know what I wanted to do so I took the business route
College wasn't even in the picture at the time
Then COVID-19 ended my year early
Sophomore :
Ended as Rank #76 (3.55 Weighted GPA)
Continued on as class Treasurer , stayed in football, kind of picked up the slack in school but still didn't care
Continued on with the business route
Began reselling sports cards (still COVID-19)
I knew my rank wasn't the best so I still wasn't thinking about college
Junior :
Ended as Rank #29 (4.29 Weighted GPA)
Played a more active role as Treasurer , quit football, put in my maximum amount of effort towards school, worked a lot for money, the least social year I had, joined Rotary Club, accepted into NHS
Knew that colleges were test optional so I didn't take the SAT seriously and received around an 1100 (heavily regret not studying/preparing for this exam) (Please use Khan Academy or some sort of resource to study for the SAT/ACT at least 1 month in advance) (Ask Mrs. Honey for a possible wavier for the SAT fee-you should take the SAT no more than 3 times )
Getting in to UT Austin became my main goal
Got close to my teachers for the first time
Thought I was interested in business because I was on the track this whole time
Panic started to settle in and I planned on taking the CAP option at UTSA to get into UT Austin later on in college if I were offered (until I got my rank back in the summer and found out I was top 6% which was auto-admit status)
Started to write college essays mid-June
Senior :
Ended as Rank #14 (4.57 Weighted GPA)
Finally put prom together (as the Treasurer with the other class officers) , worked even more for more money, still tried really hard in classes (it didn't matter in the end)
Thought I was going to apply to my dream schools (UNC Chapel Hill, Cornell, and Notre Dame) but realized my overall application was so underwhelming and I was not going to write around 15-20 essays in total (Do not give up like I did, anything can happen with playing your cards right and with quality effort)
Submitted my one and only application to UT Austin mid-October
Received my decision January 31st (Rejected from McCombs, Accepted to College of Liberal Arts-Undeclared)
Was class Treasurer for all 4 years, became NHS Treasurer, participated in Rotary even more, had some online business course certificates, had a moderately successful small business with reselling sports cards, but in the end it did not matter (rank and test scores were low, I didn't do HOSA or BPA, and didn't write the best essays)
Thought it was the end of the world because I got rejected but started to explore my interests and strengths which led me to establish my aspirations in Dentistry
Relaxed for most of senior year and had the most fun summer of my life
